I was raised on Southern Rock and cooking by a pod of dolphins in Orlando, FL. From my earliest memories of playing in the Florida frost in my Fins windbreaker, I have been a diehard Miami Dolphins fan that bleeds aqua and orange! After moving to Fairfax with my family as a youngster, we moved to C'ville as my parents both took jobs at UVA, and I have lived here most of my life...since before Fashion Square Mall was built! I love the mountains and change of seasons.
I have always had an interest in acting and drama and I participated in several plays and MC'd many talent shows throughout middle school before the fateful day that I became interested in radio; local broadcasting legend Mac McDonald, formerly the "Voice of the Cavaliers," stopped by my mass media class at Albemarle High School and I have been involved in the medium (starting with the school announcements) ever since. After graduating from A.H.S. as Senior Class president, I received (2) degrees from P.V.C.C. and obtained my B. A. degree from Mary Baldwin College in Staunton in 1997. I love my God, Country, wonderful family which includes 3 great kids, and our troops in service. I am an avid cook, with years of chef training under my belt, and fisherman that passionately follows all UVA sports as well. In my spare time, I am a watercolorist and have done a number of shows throughout the area and sold a number of commissioned works to folks all over the nation.
I worked for the largest rock station in Central VA during the mid to late 90's before another local broadcasting legend, Vinnie Kice, brought me onboard the team that is now Monticello Media. I worked on weekends for Your Country 99.7 WCYK for a couple of years before joining Pam on the morning show from August 2008 until late January 2009, at which time our wonderful new Program Director and afternoon personality Lisa Allen moved me to middays where I have been ever since. I love the entire team at the station, and thanks to wonderful listeners like you, I have been able to see some of the greatest acts of all time and meet and interview a wide range of talent from Gregg Allman and Kenny Rogers to Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley and Larry the Cable Buy. Without a doubt, country music is the most relevant, diverse, powerful, current, family friendly music anywhere! Thank you so much for letting me do what I love and come into your cars, homes and offices each day - it is truly an honor and I could not do it without YOU!
